Fairbanks, AK

It is unknown to me whether the Fairbanks monument is in public land or right at the edge of Fort Wainwright Army Base. It is located in the furthest NW corner of the base behind the ski lift and communication arrays. Easy access is available by getting a visitors pass.

The monument consists of an approx 9 foot circle of concrete with the original marker, a corrected marker and a plaque.

The red in the upper right is part of the historic Beacon Hill tower and is evident in Albert Whites photo of this spot.

The area directly east of this monument is restricted and no photography is allowed.
